LESLEY CURRIER, Managing Director, Marin
Shakespeare Company
After studying at Princeton University (BA) and U.C. Irvine (MA), Lesley and her husband Robert came to Marin to found Marin Shakespeare Company. Since 1989 they have produced and directed award-winning summer productions, created education programs for over 5,000 students each year, and founded Shakespeare for Social Justice, which provides rehabilitation through acting in 11 California State Prisons.
DAMEION BROWN, Artist-in-Residence, Marin Shakespeare Company
Dameion is a full-time Artist-in-Residence at Marin Shakespeare Company where he acts, teaches at-risk youth in correctional facilities, and serves as a community ambassador and inspirational speaker. He spent 23 years in prison, where he discovered Shakespeare as part of Marin Shakespeare Company’s Solano Prison program.
