Women Navigating Leadership and Politics
Elected in November 2024, Adena Ishii is the first Asian American and the first woman of color to serve as the Mayor of Berkeley. She brings with her a wealth of knowledge and experience rooted in community organizing, civic engagement, and organizational development.
Mayor Ishii is also a longtime League leader and former president of the League of Women Voters Berkeley, Albany, Emeryville, where she served as the youngest and first woman of color to lead the chapter. She will share insights from her experience in community organizing and nonpartisan leadership to advance important social justice issues.
